Mike’s Schedule April 23rd-April 27th

Monday afternoon and I’m bloggin away! Had a good weekend,(with some bad news mixed in there, which we’ll talk about later), but the best part for me was to hear my son say “ I love baseball!”. We went down to the field to practice hitting and at first he wasn’t doing so well but after I fixed his stance he was starting to hit the ball a little better which was cool, but then he didn’t want to stop! I’ve created a monster! But I’m glad that he’s into it cause last year he couldn’t care less!!
To the schedule we go!

Tuesday April 23rd The open mic at Jack Halyards 62 South Street Oyster Bay NY 11771 (516) 922-2999 or jackhalyards.com. I’ll go on at 7 and about 7:45 or 8 I’ll bring up this weeks featured artist who is a friend of mine named Bob Blatchley! Bob will be playing his brand of modern folk with a flute player! So this is cool! I don’t think I’ve ever had a flute player down at Jack’s so this is a first!! Ya don’t wanna miss this one baby! Bob will play for an hour then we’ll do the open mic as ususal!

Friday April 26th It’s Cool Fish Baby!! No mysteries here place is just great!! 7:30-11:30. 6800 Jericho Turnpike Syosset, NY 11791 (516) 921-3250 or go to tomschaudel.com.

Saturday April 27th Privatefrickinparties.

Now heres another thing that happened this past weekend that sucked! We lost my Uncle Joe. Don’t mean to bring ya down but I have to talk about this because we’re at an age when we will start losing our loved ones and just understanding why we feel so sad can help me,(us), get past things like this.
Everytime we lose somebody from our childhood, whom we have warm memories of it’s like a piece of our innocence dies too! It’s a little narcissistic but it’s honest. Uncle Joe played the accordian at family gatherings. Guess who played guitar with him as a child? Of course we will miss this person but the truth of the matter is I haven’t seen my Uncle Joe in years! But I always knew he was there! And now he’ll always be in my heart and my memory just like my Mom, Dad, and close friends who have passed in the last decade or so! So I’ll morn his death for me and my cousins and the rest of our family. Then I’m gonna celebrate the time we spent together and always remember the laughter and the innocence associated.
Thanks for being my therapist I’ll pay you all individually when I see you!
